Another example of winter light—this from an outtake from our previous photo walk project at Saint Anne’s Academy. The raked light emphasizes the texture in the bricks and adds depth and form to the slats of the blinds, in particular the brighter on the right side off the picture. The red paint of the window frames and dark brown of the surround contrasts nicely with the warmth of the brick tones, giving a sense of stillness and calm.
Stunning!
This is lovely – and, yes, still and calm. I can’t tell what is hanging in front of the blinds in the left hand window panes, but in some ways I think they make the picture by subtly breaking up the symmetry. Wonderful light; wonderful red!
Thanks Diane
I think the bit in the left side windows is reflections from behind me…not sure of what. I agree that it breaks the symmetry, and adds a bit of mystery.
